CEDAR FALLS - Ronald J. Kittrell, 77, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Denver, Colo., died Friday, Sept. 24, at his home of emphysema.

He was born Jan. 17, 1933, in Waterloo, son of Fred and Althea Mussett Kittrell. He married Diane L. Rice Aug. 21, 1954, in Nebraska; they later divorced. He married Gail M. Dodge Aug. 1, 1981, in Wisconsin; they later divorced.

He graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1951 and Gates Business College. He was a corporate accountant for C.W. Shirey and in sales for Matt Parrott & Sons. He worked at the College Square Hy-Vee during retirement. Mr. Kittrell served in the U.S. Air Force with tour of duty in Japan. He served on the board of directors for Cedar Bend Humane Society, served three years as board president, treasurer from 1976-80 of Iowa Federation of Humane Societies, past-president of National Association of Accountants and vice president of the Waterloo Sertoma Club. He was a boy scout leader and coach.

Survived by: a son, Mark (Keri) Kittrell of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Rona (Dani) Duke of Iowa City and Mimi (Dave Farris) Rice of Cedar Falls; nine grandchildren, Audrey and Alaina Kittrell, Bess (Bryan) McAlpine, Jered Baldwin, Jenna Duke, Holli Duke, and Benjamin, Nicholas and Alex Kreimeyer; two great-granddaughters, Adyson McAlpine and Myah Kreimeyer; and a sister, Lorrene Prugh of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his parents; a stepfather, George Prugh; four brothers, Donald Kittrell, Robert Walker, Elmer Prugh and Marvin Prugh; and a sister, Patricia Bush.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls, followed by military rites by Cedar Falls AMVET Post 49. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorial fund: will be established.
