WATERLOO — Hazel E. Worrall, 89, of Knoxville, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born July 20, 1921, in Knoxville, daughter of Arthur and Bertha Edgington Worrall.

She graduated from Knoxville High School. She attended Simpson College and received a bachelor's degree in teaching from the University of Northern Iowa. She taught in Marion County rural schools, Washington state, Reinbeck, Algona and Waterloo. Mrs. Worrall taught in Waterloo until retirement. She was a member of the Iowa State Education Association and Delta Kappa Gama.

Survived by: a sister-in-law, Betty Worrall of Knoxville; many nieces, nephews and cousins, including Dyan and Paul Mitchell, Caitlin and Allyson; a great-great-great-nephew, Bryer; and many close friends.

Preceded in death by: four sisters, Delta Hegwood, Irene Martin, Betty Leeper and Lola Steurwald; and five brothers, Glen, Delmar, Roy, James and William Worrall.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Monday at Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville.

Memorial fund: has been established to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella.
