WATERLOO - Eula C. Byrd, 84, of 313 N. Barclay St., died Thursday, Sept. 16, at Allen Hospital of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 23, 1925, in Durant, Miss., daughter of Henry Parker and Hattie Montgomery. She married Sam H. Byrd Jr. in Durant. He died in 1935.

Mrs. Byrd was formerly employed in the housekeeping department at the Western Home.

Survived by: a daughter, Hattie Marie (James) Derden of Melbourne, Fla.; a son, Lawrence Lee Johnson of Waterloo; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a son; and a sister.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Sanders Funeral Service and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the family at 313 N. Barclay St., where they will receive friends.
