OLIPHANT, FAULKNER, WATTERS, ASCHENBRENNER

WATERLOO - Ruth L. Oliphant, 93, of 425 Allen St., died Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Western Home Communities' Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Aug. 15, 1917, in Saskatchewan, Canada, daughter of Raleigh and Agnes Faulkner Watters. She married Donald E. Oliphant on Oct. 7, 1939, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died May 26, 1990.

Mrs. Oliphant graduated from Hudson High School in 1935. She worked for the Waterloo Community Schools in the cafeterias at West Intermediate and Hoover Intermediate, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church.

Survived by: two sons, Robert of Barrington, Ill., and Rick of Fort Wayne, Ind.; four grandchildren, Darrin (Christine) Oliphant, Vicky Muller and Blake and Chase Oliphant; three great-grandchildren, Sabrina and Kevin Muller and Amelie Oliphant; and two brothers, Elvin and Dale (Donna) Watters, both of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Wilbur, Gordy and Darrell "Pete" Watters; and a sister, Ethel Aschenbrenner.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.
