James Edwin Beasley 1925-2008

CEDAR FALLS - James Edwin Beasley, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, from injuries sustained in a bicycle/automobile accident.

He was born July 17, 1925, in Waterloo, son of Frank and Adeline Story Beasley. He married Patricia Ann Reardon on Nov. 6, 1948, at First United Methodist Church, Waterloo. She died Sept. 9, 2004.

Mr. Beasley served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had worked for John Deere & Co. for 27 years, retiring in 1983.

Survived by a son, James (Sherri) of Waverly; two daughters, Sandy (Steve) Sonnack of Waterloo and Kathy Hebert of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a great-grandchild; two brothers, Carl and Ben; and three sisters, June, Diane and Betty.

There will be no public services or visitation. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
