WATERLOO — Michael Gruetzmacher, 54, of Waterloo, died at home Aug. 27.

He was born Feb. 11, 1956, in Milwaukee, son of William and Lois Packard Gruetzmacher. He married Linda Benson in 1988, and they later divorced.

Mr. Gruetzmacher graduated from Grafton High School, Grafton, Wis., in 1974 and from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 1981 with a degree in restaurant management. He worked at Ground Round, Milwaukee, until transferring to the Waterloo location in 1985. He owned and managed Mr. Movies from 1991-2003, then worked for various restaurants and businesses in the Waterloo area.

Survived by: a son, Ryan of Iowa City; a daughter, Rachel of Waterloo; his mother Lois Panke of Theresa, Wis.; and three brothers, Jeff (Donna) and Bill (Jill), both of Grafton, and Kim (Cindy) of Arden Hills, Minn.

Preceded in death by: his father; and a brother, Scott.

Memorial services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service.
