DUNKERTON — Thomas "Tom" Hood, 48, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Dunkerton and Readlyn, died Monday, Sept. 6, at home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1962, in Waterloo, son of Vernon and Beverly Fox Hood. He married Anamarie Hildebrand on April 17, 1999, at Backbone State Park.

Mr. Hood graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1980 and the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in accounting. He worked as an accountant for numerous years and was currently employed at Linnhaven, Cedar Rapids, as an accountant. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Jonathan of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Renae Hood of Cedar Rapids; and a brother, Michael (Charlotte) of Little Rock, Ark.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, Readlyn, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Readlyn. There will be no visitation Friday at the church.
