CEDAR FALLS — Lewis Lee McKinney, 84, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Sept. 4, at Cedar Falls Healthcare Center.

He was born June 10, 1926, in Ellendale, N.D., son of James and Margaret Jones McKinney. He married Lois Chase May 24, 1996.

Mr. McKinney worked at Rath Packing for 34 years and was a hired hand for Kreb farms for many years. He also worked at Allen Hospital for six years.

He was a member of Ambassadors for Christ Church.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Minister Larry (Linda); a stepson, Blaine (Linda) Frazer; a stepdaughter, Becky (Kelly) Conrad; two brothers, Ray (Grace) and Clifford (Lucy); a sister Pearl; six grandchildren, Jeff and Pam Craun, Drew Frazer, and Danielle, Jessica, and Jack Conrad; and five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Daniel, Lana, Neil and Calvin.

Preceded in death by: his parents; his first wife of 46 years, Lorraine; and three brothers, Roy, Johnny and Henry.

Graveside services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family.

He loved his pastor, Faye Scott, and the entire church family. He was baptized in the Holy Ghost on Sept. 27, 2009. He loved to garden and grew huge tomatoes and roses. He also loved embroidery and did beautiful handwork. Lewis will be dearly missed by all who knew him
