Mabel Dorothea Angel, age 90, of LaPorte City, Iowa died Friday, March 10, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waukon, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday, March 13 at 2 p.m. at Methodist Church in LaPorte City with the Rev. McCoy officiating. Burial was in Dysart Cemetery in Dysart, Iowa. Husisman-Dykeman Funeral Home of LaPorte City, Iowa was in charge of arrangements.

Mabel was born April 28, 1898 in Elberon, Iowa to August and Mary (Mathiesen) Stein. She lived most of her life in LaPorte City and some time in Dysart, Iowa. She graduated from high school and on November 24, 1920 she married John Angel in Marion, Iowa. They owned and operated Angel's Cafe in LaPorte City for many years. John died January 2, 1967. She was a 50 year member of Rebekah Lodge.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale Allen Angel and five sisters.

Surviving are a son Don Angel of Waukon, Iowa; 3 grandchildren, Mick and Chad Angel, and Linda Hale; 4 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Viola Finch of Sun City, Arizona and Mrs. Leone Heskett of McAllen, Texas.
