WATERLOO, IOWA — John "Johnnie" Jones, 55, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, August 3, at Country View care center of natural causes.

He was born January 5, 1955, in Waterloo, son of Jack and Caldonia Crooks Jones.

Mr. Jones graduated from Waterloo East High School and was a tracer at Qwest Communications (formerly Northwestern Bell) for more than 20 years prior to working at APAC, Waterloo Community Schools (Longfellow) and Wendy’s for 12 years. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Survived by: several cousins, including Jacqueline Bradford of Waterloo and Carol Reynolds of Lincoln, Neb., who have been caring for him.

Preceded in death by: his parents.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Antioch Baptist Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Greer Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be sent to 321 W. Dale St., where the family will receive friends.
