WATERLOO - Catherine Etta Lynch, 87, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, July 23, of natural causes.

She was born March 19, 1923, in Janesville, daughter of William and Maude Heiser May. She married Edward T. Lynch on June 16, 1951, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Waterloo. He died Dec. 21, 2000.

Mrs. Lynch was a 1941 graduate of Waterloo East High School. She was employed with Rath Packing Co., Friendship Village in housekeeping and also was a homemaker.

Survived by: a son, Steve (Virginia) of Waterloo; four daughters, Mary (Dan) Mulvey of Irving Texas, Cathy (Russ) Wendel of Clarion and Joanne (Dave) Roche and Carol (Kevin) Patterson, both of Waterloo; a daughter-in-law, Vicki Lynch of Waterloo; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Helen May of Chino Valley, Ariz.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two sons, Joe and Bob; and a brother, Alfred "Bud" May.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
