LA PORTE CITY — Nancy G. Werner, 70, of La Porte City, died Sunday, July 18, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born April 13, 1940, in Waterloo, daughter of Lloyd and Lessie Harris Appleton. She married Robert H. Federspiel Sept. 5, 1959, in Raymond. He died Sept. 29, 1962. She married Dean Werner Nov. 11, 1963, in Eagle Center.

She graduated from Don Bosco High School in 1958.

Survived by: her husband, Dean; three sons, Mike (Yvonne) of La Porte City, Mark (Robin) of Dysart and Matt (Andrea) of Mount Auburn; two daughters, Karla of Waterloo and Karen (Tom) McLaren of Germantown Hills, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Berner of Independence and Becky Phelps of La Porte City; and a brother, Randy (Diane) Appleton of Blakesburg.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, with burial in St. Mary’s of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, with a 3 p.m. rosary. Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.
