[Waterloo Courier, Wednesday, July 7, 2010]

WATERLOO Cheryl M. Blake, 40, of Waterloo, entered the presence of heaven into Jesus Christ's arms on Saturday, July 3, 2010. Her death was very unexpected, but we know Jesus called her to be with Him.

She was born June 22, 1970, in Waterloo, the daughter of Robert and Janice Nielsen Blake. Cheryl worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant in Des Moines, at Tyson Foods and in the cafeteria/deli department at Walmart.

She was a loving, caring mother to her son, Trevor. She also was a very caring, loving person to her mother, father, sisters and brothers. Many nieces and nephews loved her dearly.

She is survived by her parents of Waterloo; one son, Trevor Perkins of Waterloo; three brothers, Robert Blake Jr. of Waterloo, Bill (Kay) Blake of Ruthven and Kenny Adams of Toledo, Ohio; one sister, Donna (Ernie) Melendrez of Toledo; a half brother, Troy (Katie) Benham of Marion; two half sisters, Janece Shafer of Waterloo and Christine (Steve) Benham of Dysart.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Teri Carolus; twin brother and sister, Mary and Joseph Blake; maternal grandmother, Lydia Nielsen; and paternal grandparents, Clara and Percy Blake.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and an hour before services Friday.

Those who wish may direct memorials to the family.

Cheryl lives in our hearts and we will always cherish her. I thank my God always, John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
