AR FALLS — Virgil V. Samec, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, June 27, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born Jan. 22, 1941, in Cresco, son of Alois and Adela Hosek Samec. He married Marlene Arndt June 28, 1961, in Maple Leaf. She died Dec. 15, 2000.

He was an antique collector and dealer for many years.

Survived by: three sons, Roger (Teresa) Samec of New Hartford, Dean Samec of Stevensville, Mont,, and David Samec of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Jesse Samec, Drew Samec, Morgan Samec and Mitchell Samec; a brother, Jerome (Bonnie) Samec of Manley; and two sisters, Delores (Kenny) Nehl of New Hampton and Darlene (Matt) Andera of Calmar.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
