WATERLOO — Sharon R. Dawson, 73, of Colona, Ill., formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, June 27, at Forest Hill Nursing and Rehab Center, East Moline, Ill.

She was born Feb. 21, 1937, in Mason City, daughter of Frank and Ellen Hammond Worsing. She had worked as a nurse’s aide and was a senior companion in Waterloo for many years.

Survived by: four sons, Franklin D. (Rose) Roe Jr. of Colona, Farley D. (Vicki) Roe of Hudson and Patrick E. and Michael T. Roe, both of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Rea R. Abrams of Cedar Falls, Catherine M. (Troy) Benham of Marion, Becky J. Huebner (Allison Banks) of Cedar Rapids and Sherri K. (Danny) White of Holland; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol McDonald of Waterloo and Bonnie Hilton of Van Horne.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Patricia Waterman.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with inurnment at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday.
