LA PORTE CITY - Eugene A. Juhl, 77, of Waterloo, formerly of La Porte City, died Friday, June 25, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

He was born May 8, 1933, in Cedar Falls, son of Alfred C. and Margaret Jorgensen Juhl. He married Shirley I. Hild Sept. 24, 1953, in Cedar Falls, and they later divorced.

Mr. Juhl worked at Rath Packing Co., Waterloo, for over 32 years and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Survived by: his former wife, Shirley Juhl of La Porte City; a daughter, Helen (Steven) Adair of Reinbeck; five sons, Anthony (Valerie) of Cedar Falls, Tom (Glenda Palmer) and Gary (Patricia), both of La Porte City, and Roy and Timothy, both of Waterloo; eight grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, James (Joy) of Kansas City, Mo.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at American Lutheran Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Full military honors will be conducted by La Porte City San Diego American Legion Post 207 and VFW Normandy Post 3983. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at La Porte City Funeral Service, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
