WATERLOO - Nina Schaa, 79, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 23, at Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center of Western Home Communities of natural causes.

She was born June 16, 1931, in New Providence, daughter of Clarence and Elpha Faris Beach. She married Howard Schaa July 9, 1952, in New Providence.

Mrs. Schaa graduated from New Providence High School in 1949 and was an audiometrist for Area Education Agency VII, retiring in 1991 after 16 years. She was a member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church and active in Women of the Church, taught Sunday school and was a greeter.

Survived by: her husband; two sons, Mark (Helen) of Issaquah, Wash., and Kevin (Deborah) of Osage Beach, Mo.; a daughter, Kim (Dennis) Kubik of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Katie Schaa, Kelsey Kubik, Kami Kubik, Stephanie Kubik, Jeremy Schaa, Nicholas Schaa, Brandon Schaa and Melissa Schaa; a great-grandson, Brylen Schaa; and two sisters, Karen (Galen) Chitty of Zearing and Carmen (Vic) Heyer of Osage Beach.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Waterloo First United Methodist Church, with a 2 p.m. burial in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Eldora. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials: may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Cedar Valley Hospice.
