WATERLOO - Paul Ivo Cookinham, 85, of Concord, N.C., formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, June 10, in Kannapolis, N.C.

He was born Oct. 22, 1924, in Ayrshire, son of Ivo and Margaret Fitzpatrick Cookinham. He married Madaliene Warner in Springfield, Minn.

Mr. Cookingham was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with John Deere for 26 years, retiring in 1987.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Peggy (Mike) Schriever of Concord; three sons Joseph (Cynthia) of Ozark, Mo., and Paul (Connie) and Chad (LaTasha), both of Waterloo; 12 grandchildren, James, Nathan, Hannah, Patricia, Evan, Anna, Joshua, Nicholas, Rachel, Ariel, Trevor and Jozlyn; two great-grandchildren, Jamison and Zoe; and a sister, Betty Patchin of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Sherry Lynn Cookinham; two brothers, Glen and Gene; and four sisters, Thelma Brogan, Lorraine Smith, Rita Togstead and LeNore Boecker.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Burton Avenue Baptist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Paul and Madaliene were longtime members at Burton Avenue Baptist Church. Paul was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. His passion was his family and he delighted in vacationing with them at Lake Okoboji.
