WATERLOO - Duane "George" Johnson, 59, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 28, at the VA hospital, Iowa City.

He was born July 23, 1950, in Waterloo, son of Don and Evelynn Igou Johnson.

He served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a contractor in the area for many years.

Survived by: two sons, Harley of New Hampton and Matt Johnson; three daughters, Donna Lockey of Northwood, Rebecca Johnson of Waterloo and Tina Johnson; several grandchildren; three brothers, Martin, Mike and Walter, all of Florida; a sister, Dawn Johnson of Florida; and many special friends.

Preceded in death by: his parents; two brothers, Don and Paul Johnson.

Family-directed Services: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at Evansdale AMVETS. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South St. is assisting the family.
