A. B. Weitnauer Dies; Body En Route Here

Henry Weitnauer received word yesterday afternoon that his nephew, Arnold B. Weitnauer, had died that morning at an aviation field hospital in Georgia. Relatives here had not received notice of his illness. He had only recently transferred to Georgia from a camp in Florida, and no word had been received since that time. He enlisted in the aviation service last December.

Besides the uncle he is survived by two brothers, Eugene of Waterloo, and Lee of Rock Island, and one sister, Mildred, of Rock Island.

The body is expected to arrive in Waterloo tonight or tomorrow. It will be removed to the O'Keefe & Towne mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

Arnold B. Weitnauer

The body of Arnold B. Weitnauer arrived this morning from Camp Gordon, Ga., where he died as a result of influenza complications. The body was removed to the O'Keefe & Towne mortuary, pending the funeral which will probably be tomorrow at the home of his uncle, Henry Weitnauer. A lieutenant from that camp accompanied the remains to this city.

Arnold Weitnauer was born April 25, 1894, in New York. He attended school in Waterloo and lived most of his life here. He enlisted last December at Mason City in the photographic section of the aviation service. he had been stationed at Arcadia, Fla., for several months, and recently was transferred to the officers training school at Camp Gordon, Ga. Surviving are a sister, Mildred, Rock Island; a brother, Eugene, Waterloo, and a brother, Leo, Rock Island. The sister being ill with influenza will not be here for the funeral.
