CEDAR FALLS - Coral A. Rens, 98, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, April 22, at Elizabeth E Martin Health Center of the Western Home Communities of natural causes.

She was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Cottonwood county, Minn., daughter of Arthur and Emma Springer Swartz. She married Bernard Delaney Baker June 5, 1935, in Emmetsburg. He died in 1959. She married James C. Rens June 3, 1968, in Spring Valley, Minn. He died in 1977.

She graduated from Jefferson, Minnesota Consolidated Schools in 1929 and received teachers training at Normal School in Windom, Minn. She worked for Montgomery Wards for 20 years, retiring as a manager in 1972. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church since 1950 and received the Waterloo mayor's volunteer performance award in 1986 for her service to the Meals on Wheels Program.

Survived by: two sons, Allen R. (Marilyn) Baker of Ormond Beach, Fla., and George A. (Paulette) Baker of Waterloo; four grandchildren, James (Kristy) Baker, Eric Baker, John Baker and Susan (Mell) Underwood; five great-grandchildren, Caroline and Andrew Baker, Brooke, Cameron and Matthew Underwood; and a stepgreat-grandson, David Kraus.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, Earl, Lewis and W. Clair; and four sisters, Mabel Nobel, Ethel Smith, Bessie Bollenbach and Iris Johnson.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home.
