WATERLOO — Lillian R. Wenger, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 16, at Friendship Village Med Center.

She was born Nov. 5, 1922, in Grundy Center, daughter of Henry W. and Tina Meyer Schulta. She married Harley E. Brand on Feb. 14, 1946, in Waterloo. He died in 1976. She married Howard Balow in Lake City, Minn.; he preceded her in death. She married Dean Wenger; he preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wenger graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1940 and Commercial Extension College in Omaha, Neb. She worked for John Deere and Co. for many years, retiring in 1978. She also assisted her first husband in organizing the Waterloo Water Hawks Ski Team.

Survived by: two daughters, Vicky Frank of Grimes and Debbie (Steve) Caughron of Dike; a son, Tom (Joyce) Brand of Alta Loma, Calif.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Lois Erpelding and JoAnn Weatherly, both of Waterloo, and Ella Petersen of Lincoln, Neb.; and a brother, Elmer (Ruby) Schulta of Grundy Center.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and a sister, Milda Getting.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel. Cremation rites accorded after services, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation for an hour before services Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
