EVANSDALE - Geraldine J. Lehr Christensen, 76, of Evansdale, died Thursday, May 6, 2010, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center after a long illness.

She was born Aug. 6, 1933, in Waterloo, daughter of Merle Clark and Arlene Evelyn (Henry) Lehr.

She attended schools in Waterloo, Cedar Falls and Independence areas. She married Maurice "Bud" Christensen on May 22, 1974, in Galena, Ill.

She worked as a pharmacy tech. for Hartliep Drug and Broadway Pharmacy.

Survived by her husband, Maurice of Waterloo; two sons, Douglas (Becky) Shimp of Washburn and Keith (Cathy) Shimp of Waterloo; three daughters, Debra Harberts of Decorah, Karen (Gary) Vick of Raymond and Deann (Trent) Graham of Dunkerton; a stepson, Daniel Christensen of Minnesota; three stepdaughters, Diane Miller of Waterloo, Judy Pierce of Cedar Falls and Cindy (Jim) Curd of Waterloo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rick (Kathy) Lehr of Gooding, Idaho and Jerry (Mary) Lehr of Waterloo; and a sister, Jo Ann (Paul) Stoner of Hudson, Fla.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

She had five children from a previous marriage. She enjoyed crafts, cleaning and shopping.
