WATERLOO - Raymond L. Mason, 85, of Waterloo, died Friday, April 30, at Cedar Valley Hospice House.

He was born Oct. 1, 1924, in Waterloo, son of Earl and Elizabeth Grupp Mason. He married Gertrude Vaughn on Oct. 1, 1955, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She preceded him in death on Jan. 4, 1967. He married Maralee Voland on Jan. 1, 1971, in Jesup. She preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 1991.

Mr. Mason was a cupola tender in the foundry at John Deere Tractor Works for 38 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict at the Pusan Perimeter.

Survived by: a brother, Thomas (Clara) of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Betty Main and Carole (Jim) Rubendall, both of Waterloo; two stepsons, Bud and Joey Vaughn; a stepdaughter, Marcia (Stewart) Bartlett of El Dorado, Kan.; and several stepgrandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a sister, Mary Wallace; a stepdaughter, Pauline Amos; and a stepson, Marv Voland.

Private family services: at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Memorials: may be directed to the Cedar Valley Hospice House.
