CEDAR FALLS - Willis "Bill" Deyo Greene, 91, formerly of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, April 10, at Colorado State Veterans Home in Florence, Colo.

He was born June 17, 1918, in Waterloo, son of Elbert M. and Eleanor Deyo Greene. He married Georgia A. Yeaton in 1945. He married Lucinda Dickson in 1978. He remarried Georgia in 2001, in Woodland Park, Colo. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Greene graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1933 and the pattern makers apprentice school at Waterloo John Deere Tractor Co. He served in the U.S. Navy in 1942 during World War II. He was a pattern maker aboard the USS Prairie as chief petty officer. As a reserve, he was called to serve in the Korean War. He became a partner in Woodland Pattern Co. in Cedar Falls. He owned Greene Pattern Co.

Survived by: a brother, David (Marian) of Waterloo; three children, Robert (Madonna) of Cedar Rapids; Janice of Woodland Park, Colo., and April of Brooklyn, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Jessica (Benjamin) Lumbard of Woodland Park, John of Davenport, Joseph (Aimee) of Marshalltown and James (Amanda Mahan) of Spokane, Wash.; and six great-grandsons.

Preceded in death by: his wife, Georgia; and three brothers, Elbert Jr., Homer and John Robert.

Services: Waterloo Memorial Park Saturday, May 1.

Bill was an avid athlete and health enthusiast, still riding his bicycle and motorcycle in his seventies, playing racquetball and hiking to the Pikes Peak summit. A natural musician, he played the piano and harmonica by ear, a patient husband and father, a master craftsman and sound businessman
