BROWN, BAIRD, KNIGHT, JONES

WATERLOO — Richard L. "Dick" Brown, 67, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 18, at home in Temple, Texas.

He was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Waterloo, son of George and Maxine Baird Brown. He married Vicki Knight on Feb. 16, 1963, in Waterloo.

Mr. Brown worked as a bricklayer his entire life. He worked for John G. Miller and was the owner and operator of Brown Masonry in Waterloo. The couple co-owned McKenna & McNelly Photography for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 290, Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local 28, and the Waterloo Cedar Falls Homebuilders Association.

Survived by: his wife, Vicki; a son, Timothy (Michelle) of Wichita, Kan.; a daughter, Christine (Bill) Jones of Texas; four grandchildren, Taylor and Mason Brown, Joshua (Bonnie) Jones and Kaitlyn Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Ann Jones.

Preceded in death by: his parents; Gram D; a brother, Max; and a sister, Sheryl.

Services: 2 p.m. Saturday at Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and for an hour before services Saturday at the church. Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the family for a memorial fund to be established at a later date.
