WATERLOO - Kory D. Swanson, 48, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 11, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cirrhosis of the liver.

He was born July 2, 1961, in Waterloo, son of David and Sharon Smith Swanson. He married Shelly Lange on Sept. 7, 1991; they later divorced.

Mr. Swanson worked numerous jobs over the years, most recently as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former charter member of the Crew MC.

Survived by: a daughter, Cayla (Joshua) Tucker of Waterloo; a grandson, Terrance; his parents of Waterloo; a sister, Kammi (Dean) Clabaugh of Elk Run Heights; and a brother, Kyle of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his grandparents, James and Goldie Smith and Earl and Sybil Swanson.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home, Waterloo, with burial in Hudson Cemetery, Hudson. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Military rites performed by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Army National Guard 1st Battalion, 133rd Infantry.

Kory loved his friends and family and especially enjoyed riding with his brothers.
