WATERLOO - Bernita Thelma Gould, 85, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 10, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born July 25, 1924, in Strawberry Point, daughter of Howard C. and Ida Rebaschus Bowman. She married Edwin R. Gould on Sept. 26, 1946, in Davenport. He died Oct. 21, 2006.

Mrs. Gould graduated from Strawberry Point High School and furthered her education at AIC, Davenport. She was employed as an accounting technician at the U.S. Weapons Command, Rock Island, Ill., retiring in 1989 after 30 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, and was involved with the Kings Daughters. Most recently she was a member at Trinity American Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

Survived by: two daughters, Carol (Dennis) Goetz of Waterloo and Nancy Gould of West Des Moines; two grandchildren, Kimberly (Steve) Oliver of McDonough, Ga., and Kurt Goetz of Torrance, Calif.; a great-granddaughter, Kaylie Oliver; and two sisters, Mary Lou (Max) Wright of Fort Myers, Fla., and Barbara (Larry) Christianson of Henderson, Nev.

Preceded in death by: her parents; seven brothers, Don, Bill, Milton, George, Bud, Howard Jr. and Earl Bowman; and two sisters, Irma Pfrommer and Clara Sampson.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, Waterloo, with private burial in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Bernita will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
