WATERLOO — Jean L. Harned Peterson, 88, of Waterloo, died Monday, April 5, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born Jan. 22, 1922, in Sioux City, daughter of Dr. Walter Max and Marguerite Andersen Harned. She married Keith E. Peterson on Nov. 27, 1941, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Waterloo. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Peterson was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Waterloo Elklets and Zion Lutheran Church.

Preceded in death by: her parents; four sisters, Peggy Lou Harned, Phyllis (Jack) Slattery, Maxine (Bill) Slattery and Jane (Art) Van Doran; and a grandson, Jason Akin.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Waterloo. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Zion Youth Center, 1712 W. Fourth St.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
