WATERLOO, IOWA - Robert A. Stewart, 80, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, December 1, 2000, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, of natural causes.

He was born October 5, 1920, in Waterloo, son of Arthur H. and Barbara Rose Tiggeman Stewart. He served for 24 years in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as lieutenant colonel. He was a German prisoner of war during World War II.

Survived by: his wife, Jane; two sons, David of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Steven of Newport, R.I.; a daughter, Barbara Lynn Collier of Troy, Ohio; six grandchildren; and four sisters, LaRainne Jones of Fowlerville, Michigan, Dorothy Timmerman of Kingman, Ariz., Charlotte Ohrt of Denver, Colo., and Darlene Allen Page of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a son, Michael; and a sister, Barbara Anne Waddell.

Burial: will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, N.M. His body was cremated.
