CEDAR FALLS -- Donald C. Griffen, 74, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at home of cancer.

He was born July 10, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa., son of Ira P. and Gladys E. Dudgeon Griffen. He married Janet F. Gould on Sept. 12, 1947, in Ames.

Mr. Griffen received a bachelor's degree from Iowa State University in 1949 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a finance and insurance manager for many years for Cadillac dealerships in Waterloo, including Morris, Shriver, Tate and Reed. For the past 16 years he was a court attendant for the state of Iowa.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Gary of Bellingham, Wash., and Scott of Cedar Falls; four grandsons; and two half brothers, Dana of Provo, Utah, and Toby of Springfield, Ill.

Visitation: 1 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Private family burial will be Thursday in Greenwood Cemetery.
