CEDAR FALLS -- Ralph G. Thuesen, 81, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Dike, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of cancer.

He was born May 13, 1918, in rural Cedar Falls, son of Jens J. and Julia M. Guldager Thuesen. He married Elva M. Hansen on Jan. 22, 1941, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Thuesen attended Grandview College, Des Moines, and had farmed in Grundy County for more than 40 years. He was past Master of Honor Lodge AF&AM of Dike, director of Iowa Savings Bank, Dike, from 1962 until the present and past president of Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church Council.

Survived by: his wife; two daughters, Cheryl E. Gerdes of Charles City and Marcia L. Michaelsen of Cedar Falls; and five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fredsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
