WATERLOO -- Robert "Buck" Grubb, 72, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at the Covenant Medical Center Skilled Nursing Unit after a lengthy illness.

He was born Oct. 8, 1927, in Princeton, Ind., son of Victor and Eunice McConnell Grubb. He married Jeananne Cromer on Sept. 23, 1951, in Philadelphia.

Mr. Grubb was a truck driver for Takin Brothers Moving and Storage, and Burch & Lehman Transfer for 30 years, retiring in 1987. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survived by: his wife; two sons, Gerry and David, both of Des Moines; a daughter, Chris Swacker of Waterloo; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanne Livingston of Clear Lake and Pat Rounds of Manchester.

Preceded in death by: two grandchildren; two sisters, Garnet Gregory and Joann Weber; and an infant brother.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1629. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the roofing fund at the church.
