WATERLOO -- Louis William Kuriger, 95, of 811 Reber Ave., died Monday, April 17, 2000, in Norman, Okla., of natural causes.

He was born Dec. 2, 1904, in Muscatine, son of Henry Frank and Lucy Rohrbach Kuriger. He married Margaret Aloisia Stefan on June 25, 1931, in Waterloo. She died Dec. 10, 1999.

Mr. Kuriger had been employed by Chamberlain Manufacturing Co. and then was a machinist for Construction Machinery Co., retiring in 1969. He was also a charter member of St. Edward Catholic Church and did janitorial work at the church and the school after his retirement.

Survived by: a son, Dr. William L. Kuriger of Norman; three daughters, Mary E. "Betsy" Bronson and Cecelia Deich, both of Waterloo, and Dorothy Wrage of Hudson; 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Bernard of Monticello and Alfred of Savannah, Ga.; and a sister, Roseline Schwendinger of Monticello.

Preceded in death by: a grandson; five brothers, Ralph, Karl, Clarence, Norbert and Lawrence; and three sisters, Mildred Barry, Helen Kuriger and Genevieve Miller.

Services: were 11 a.m. today at St. Edward Catholic Church, with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or to St. Vincent de Paul.
