CEDAR FALLS -- Keith "Mac" McBroom, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Karrington Cottages, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born June 21, 1910, in Hastings, Neb., son of Carl and Dora Dickson McBroom. He married Ruth Thornes on April 12, 1935, in Marshalltown.

Mr. McBroom was employed as manager of Piggley-Wiggley and then Eagles, both in Cedar Falls, and then Sun Mart, Waterloo, retiring in 1962.

Survived by: his wife; three daughters, Deanna Brennecke of Marshalltown, Dorothy Dillon of Cedar Falls and Darla Shropshire of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: three brothers and a sister.

Private memorial services: will be Saturday, with inurnment in Rose Hill Memorial Garden, Marshalltown. There will be no visitation. Richardson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials: may be directed to American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Research.
