CEDAR FALLS -- Irene A. Beier, 83, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

She was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Spring Fountain, daughter of Herman and Elsie Blech Benzine. She married Melvin W. Beier on Aug. 17, 1939, in Fairbank. He died Nov. 23, 1986.

Survived by: a son, Kenneth of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Janet Lee of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren; two brothers, Bill of Oran and Dick of Princeton, Texas; and two sisters, Helane Brickman of Sumner and Phyllis Brickman of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, LaVerne and Marvin Benzine.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo. Friends may call from 2 to 7 p.m. today at Dahl-VanHove-Schoof Funeral Home, with family present from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
