DONALD E. JENSEN

HUDSON — Donald E. Jensen, 75, of Hudson, died Jan. 31, 2004, at Allen Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born June 25, 1928, in Black Hawk County, son of Neils and Marie Jessen Jensen.

He married Virginia V. Clemons on July 2, 1950, in Hudson and she preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1992.

He then married Ann I. Prickett Vance on June 30, 1993, in Branson, Mo.

Mr. Jensen was employed by Universal Industries in Hudson as a supervisor. He then was a truck driver for Kleen Maid Bakery in Waterloo and later was employed as a truck driver for Farm Service in the Hudson area, retiring in 1987. Donald was lifetime member of the VFW and Amvets.

Survivors include his wife, Ann, of Hudson; one daughter, Peggy Jo (Jim) Farrell of Hudson; two stepdaughters, Rebecca (Erwin) Wade, of Waterloo and Belinda (Jeff) Jackson of Waterloo; two brothers, George “Irv” (Geisla Wertz) Jensen, of Phoenix, Ariz. and Bernard (Jean) Jensen of Hudson ; two sisters, Frances Jensen, of Simi Valley, Calif., and Sharon (Floyd) Appleby of Waterloo; two granddaughters, Melanie DeVries and Summer Baird; three stepgranddaughters, Jeanette Bower, Stephanie Jackson, and Miranda Jackson; and four stepgrandsons, Tony Nails, Erwin Wade, Issiah Wade, and Michael Farrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, one daughter, Patricia Kay, in infancy; and one brother, Harold Jensen.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, 3146 Kimball Ave. in Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
