CEDAR FALLS - Shawn Michael Babcock, 55, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, March 16, in Cedar Falls.

He was born April 15, 1954, in Cedar Falls, son of Robert L. and Joan L. Cook Babcock. He married Patricia Beard on April 27, 1973, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Cedar Falls. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Babcock was a machinist at John Deere & Co. for 17 years.

Survived by: two sons, Shane of Cedar Falls and Shay of Waterloo; a daughter, Shannon (Gene) Habinck of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; his parents of Cedar Falls; maternal grandmother, Esther Cook of Cedar Falls; a brother, Kerry of Cedar Falls; and three sisters, Tammy Holly of Rogers, Ark., Sheilah (Robin) Nunnally of Cedar Falls and Tara (Rex) Meyer of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Shelly Babcock; a brother, Kevin; paternal grandparents, Dick and Mary Babcock; and maternal grandfather, Clyde Cook.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Washington Chapel Cemetery, rural Cedar Falls. Public visitation for an hour before the services Saturday at the funeral home.
