WATERLOO — Joseph "Joe" Paul Costello, 44, of Waterloo, died Monday, March 15, at Covenant Medical Center from complications of a spinal cord injury.

He was born Oct. 2, 1965, in Anamosa, the son of John "Jack" and Loretta Wright Costello. He married Theresa Gruman on Aug. 25, 1990, in Monticello.

Mr. Costello was employed as a telephone representative for Ruppman Marketing, now known as Affina.

Survived by: his wife; a daughter, Mandi (Ryan) Husmann of Monticello; four grandchildren, Skyleigh, Kyler, Alyvia and Kaesyn Husman; his mother of Anamosa; two brothers, John (Susan) of Cedar Rapids and Jim (Evelyn) of Anamosa; and two sisters, Jena Takes and Jan (Loren) Siebels, both of Anamosa.

Preceded in death by: his father; and a nephew, Stevie Takes.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.

Joe enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, watching Dallas Cowboys football games, NASCAR races and bowling on the Wii.
