WATERLOO — Karolyn N. Taylor, 71, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 14, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 15, 1939, in Sioux City, daughter of Ralph David and Sylvia Marie Sorenson Porter. She married Donald Dean Taylor on Dec. 22, 1959, in Waterloo. He preceded her in death March 20, 2004.

She worked as an executive assistant at V.G.M. Associates, retiring in 2005.

Survived by: a son, Douglas (Kathy) of Washburn; three daughters, Deanna (Brian) Davis of Washburn and Debra (Brian) Jensen and Denise (Ben) Rand, both of Waterloo; two brothers, David (Veronica) Porter of Baxter and Sam (Marilyn) Porter of Dallas; nine grandchildren, Michael (Cindy), Megan, Morgan, Hunter Rand, Hogan Rand, Kale, Kassidy, Hannah Rand and Heath Rand; and a great-granddaughter, Emma Davis.

Preceded in death by: a son in infancy.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
