CEDAR FALLS - Wilma A. Mortensen, 85, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, March 4, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo

She was born Aug. 13, 1924, in Ocheydan, daughter of John and Nellie McKeighan Mowery. She married Hugh Mortensen on Dec. 16, 1944, in Council Bluffs.

Mrs. Mortensen graduated from Shelby High School and was a homemaker throughout her adult life.

Survived by: her husband; a son, Craig (Norma) of Santa Cruz, Calif.; a daughter, Cathy (John) Conlon of Waterloo; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Preceded in death by: two brothers, Lyle and Warren Mowery; and two sisters, Elva Bradford and Lucille Briggs.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the Richardson Funeral Home.

Memorial fund: in her name has been established to be used toward starting a perennial garden at Bickford Cottages Retirement Center, 5101 University Ave., Cedar Falls 50613.
