WATERLOO - Evelyn M. Gleason, 92, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Feb 20.

She was born July 9, 1917, in Worthington, Minn., daughter of Willard and Silvy Bell Craun. She married Virgil Gleason on Sept. 12, 1935, in Spencer. He died Oct. 14, 2008.

Mrs. Gleason worked at Platt's Nursery, the Waterloo Register, and Broadway and Hartleip Drug Stores. She also volunteered for the American Red Cross, RSVP, was a member of Becker-Chapman American Legion Post and a life member of the VFW.

Survived by: a son, Merle (Lois) of Waterloo; a daughter, Ardis (Byron) Morehouse of Evansdale; a son-in-law, Robert Plung of LaVergne, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister; Lenor Kilker of Worthington.

Preceded in death by: a daughter, Janice Plung; a brother, Roy Craun; and a sister, Beverly Craun.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Linden United Methodist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball is in charge of arrangements. .
