WATERLOO - Leola L. Potter, 89, of Waterloo, died Saturday, Feb. 13, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Feb. 21, 1920, near Vinton, Harrison Township, Benton County, daughter of Ovid and Luelia May Benion Forsyth. She married Hubert I. Potter on June 20, 1938, in Cedar Rapids. He died Jan. 6, 1993.

Mrs. Potter worked at Rath Packing Co. for 12 years and was a cook at the Woolworth Store snack bar. She later drove a rolling snack bar for Canteen Services. She was a charter member and past president of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and was a member of Central Christian Church.

Survived by: three sons, Daryl (Sharon), Jerry of Dubuque and Gary (Carolyn) of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Janet (Bill) Russell of Dubuque; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Della Stoneman of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: a grandson; two sisters, Myrtle Allen and Ila Schutterle; and three brothers, Carl, Earl and Ray Forsyth.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, where there will be a 6 p.m. Eagles Auxiliary memorial service. Visitation also an hour before services Thursday at the church.
