BRUST, WILCOX, KLINGER, BRUSTKERN

LA PORTE CITY — Loretta R. "Rose" Brust, 91, of Mason City, formerly of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Keystone Cedars Assisted Living, Cedar Rapids.

She was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of Fred and Gertrude Wilcox Klinger. She married Carl Brust on June 2, 1940, in Waterloo. He died in November 2003.

Mrs. Brust had worked 28 years for the Mason City Public Schools as a kitchen manager, retiring in 1981.

Survived by: a son, Jim of Marion; two granddaughters, Lindsay Brust of Boulder, Colo., and Emily Brust of Silverthorne, Colo.; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Richard (Margaret) Brust of Monmouth, Ore., and Al Brustkern of Cedar Rapids; and two nephews, David Brustkern of Des Moines and Al Brustkern of Morrison, Ill.

Preceded in death by: her parents; an infant daughter; a granddaughter, Megan Brust; and a sister, Lois Brustkern.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City. Public visitation for an hour before services Saturday at the church. La Porte City Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements

Memorials: may be directed to Iowa Hospice, 800 First Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids 52402, or to the Parkinson’s Foundation, in lieu of flowers.

Loretta will be loved, missed and never forgotten. Amen.
