CEDAR FALLS — Maxine D. Mayo, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 7, at Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Arcadia, Ind., daughter of John and Mandie Gordon Bowers. She married Leo "Curley" Mayo on Nov. 19, 1943, in Waterloo. He died July 21, 1959.

A graduate of Waterloo West High School, Mrs. Mayo was employed with Northwestern Bell Telephone Co., Black Hawk County Courthouse and the University of Northern Iowa before retiring.

Survived by: a daughter, Sandra Runyan of Cedar Falls; a son, Gary (Joanne) of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a sister.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Western Home Chapel, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel.
