WATERLOO - Robert Eugene McAhren, 85, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Jan. 31, at Covenant Medical Center from a heart attack.

He was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Scott County, Ind., son of Elmer and Effie McNew McAhren. He married Barbara Bowser, and they later divorced. He later married Barbara Simpson.

Mr. McAhren farmed for many years, retiring in 2007.

Survived by: a daughter, Kathy (David) Stevens of Warren, Ohio; a son, Craig (Jan) of Waterloo; four grandchildren; a sister, Bonnie; and two brothers, Kenneth and Larry.

Preceded in death by: five brothers, Donald, Herbert, Glenn, Wayne and Arnold; and a sister, Thelma.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, preceded by an hour of visitation. Burial will be at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.
