WATERLOO - Richard J. "Dick" Johnson, 76, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, at Windsor Nursing of complications of Alzheimer's disease.

He was born Oct. 20, 1933, in Dunkerton, son of Alzora and Verl Johnson Sr. He married Kimberly Frazee on May 10, 1983, in Prairie du Chien, Wis.

Mr. Johnson attended Dunkerton High School, where he excelled in baseball as a pitcher. He served in the Air Force from 1953-1956 and was employed at Rath Packing Co. for 33 years, retiring in 1984.

Survived by: his wife; a stepson, Scott Frazee of Oklahoma City; a brother, Skip (Kelly) of Waterloo; four nieces; a son, Rick; and four grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: his parents; and a daughter, Diane Johnson.

Memorial Services: 1 p.m. Friday at Woods Funeral Home, Fairbank, with inurnment at a later date. There will be no visitation.

Memorials: may be directed to Windsor Nursing dementia unit or Beacon of Hope Hospice.

Dick enjoyed "buying and selling" cars, watching the Chicago Cubs and Yankees. He liked to travel and spent 16 winters in Texas. He had many wonderful friends including those at Windsor and Beacon of Hope.
