HUDSON -- Arlus Annette Steimel, 69, of 11443 Ansborough Ave., died Monday, Dec. 4, 2000, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, of cancer.

She was born March 23, 1931, in Waterloo, daughter of Dean Ellsworth and Regilda Marie Hayes Moyer. She married Lewis Alfred Steimel on June 15, 1949, in Waterloo. He died Feb. 22, 1989.

Mrs. Steimel owned and operated several gifts shops in the metro area, most recently The Generation Store.

Survived by: three sons, Joseph D. and James C., both of Eagle Center, and Jon L. of Reinbeck; a daughter, Janet O'Neil of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: a great-grandson; two brothers, James and Douglas Moyer; and a sister, Sonya Sammons.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Eagle Center, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, Waterloo, with a 4 p.m. senior citizens rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
