Obituary

Alexander S. Jackson

Alexander S. Jackson was born in Wisconsin on Jan. 6, 1860, and died April 17, 1931, aged 71 years.

He had been in failing health since the death of his wife, and had been bedfast for the past fourteen weeks.

His wife, Ellen, preceded him in death Oct. 13, 1929, and was laid to rest here in Osage.

A. S. Jackson and Ellen F. Green were united in marriage on Feb. 12, 1889. Six children, one daughter dying in infancy, were born to them. After being a resident of Osage a good many years, some thirty years ago he moved to Sibley, Iowa, living there seven years, then moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where he lived about twenty-five years, until he moved to Austin, Minnesota with his daughter.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Hilda Miller, of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Grace Hall, of Austin, Minnesota, with who he had made his home for the past four months; three sons, Roy, Ernest and Perry, all of Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. E. Paulson, of Osage, and Mrs. A. E. Parmealee, of Oswego, N.Y.; three brothers, Robert, of Waterloo, John, of Ortonville, and Tom, of California, Minnesota; five grandchildren.

He was a member of the Knights and Ladies of Security.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon in charge of the Reverend S. E. Ellis, and burial made in the Osage Cemetery.

He was a kind, devoted husband and father. He followed the trade of a carpenter.
