CEDAR FALLS - Vivian M. Lund, 90, of Western Home Communities, died Thursday, Dec. 24, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Council Bluffs, daughter of August Daniel and Anna Catherine Larsen Herwig. She married Anton M. “Tony” Lund on July 26, 1941, in Papillion, Neb.

Mrs. Lund received her bachelor’s degree from Iowa State Teachers College in 1941. She taught home economics in the Cedar Falls Community School District at Holmes Junior High for 15 years, retiring in 1981. She was past president and 60-year member of Chapter KL-PEO and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Cedar Falls, where she served as an elder and deacon and was a member of Presbyterian Women. She helped establish the Meals on Wheels program in Cedar Falls and worked closely with it for 11 years.

Survived by: her husband; a son, David (Marcia) of Des Moines; three daughters, Sheryl (Ronald) Barnes of Bloomington, Ind., Susan (David) Prescott of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Judy (Bob) Larkin of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren, Suzanne (David) Meyer, Scott Barnes, David Prescott, Angela (Travis) Kanaly, Andy Lund, Daniel Lund, Brian Larkin and Christi Larkin; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: her parents; and three brothers, Roger and Russell Herwig and Robert Herwig in infancy.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church, with inurnment at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Richardson Funeral Home and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.

Memorials: may be directed to the church or Western Home Communities.
